Following multiple reports regarding VVDI (FBS3 keys) in combination with ZN002 and ZN003, we would like to share the following information.

The issue is related to the new generation of VVDI Mercedes keys equipped with updated induction antennas (coils), specifically those with yellow and green PCB boards.

The coil resistance in these newer versions measures approximately 33–35 ohms, which appears to cause issues with ZN002 and ZN003 during the key data writing process.

To resolve this issue, the following modification can be applied. (This allows successful key learning for VVDI keys with both yellow and green PCB boards:)

At the indicated positions on both revisions, the original resistor should be removed and replaced with a new 18 kΩ resistor (marked “183”).

Please note that this modification does not affect or alter the functionality of any other features of the programmer.

Additionally, the provision of the 18 kΩ (kilo-ohm) resistor (marked “183”) is the responsibility of the customer. We do not supply this component.
